The wedge wire arc curved screen plate is an economical and practical solid-liquid separation equipment, mainly used in coal preparation plants and mineral processing plants for preliminary dewatering, desliming, medium removal, classification, and slime recovery of materials. It can also be used in conjunction with hydrocyclones to effectively classify, dewater, deslime, and remove medium from fine particles.

Cantilevered DSM wedge wire screens are also known as curved profile screen plates. They are curved concave wedge fixed screens. Common DSM screen plate types available are 45°, 60°, 120°, 270°, and 300°. Wedge wire screen elbows are made from stainless steel wedge wire. They consist of concave curved profile wire mesh inserted into a stainless steel frame. Wedge wire screen elbows are manufactured by wrapping and welding V-shaped stainless steel profile wire around support rods, then cutting the panel screen and bending it into a curved screen. Wedge wire mesh screen elbows have continuous slots and provide efficient filtration performance. The curved screen structure offers better filtration efficiency and greater capacity compared to flat wedge wire screen plates when the material flows onto the curved surface.

Main features and advantages of the wedge wire screen: 1) Horizontal strength Increases rapidly with the width of the profile, and must be sufficient to prevent the possibility of lateral bending of the wedge wire screen, which could result in loss of slot precision. 2) Vertical strength Increases rapidly with the depth of the profile, and is required to a greater extent than horizontal strength. 3) Better filtration Thanks to specialized manufacturing processes, slot sizes can be as small as 0.15mm, allowing suitable slot sizes to be selected based on sand particle size in specific areas. This allows better control of sand, reduced pump maintenance, and extended well life. 4) Long service life When using abrasives, the top surface of the profile will wear over time, inevitably requiring an increase in aperture. When the opening angle is small, the increase is gradual; however, when the opening angle is large, the increase is rapid. The aperture quickly reaches an oversized limit, thus shortening the service life. 5) Non-clogging slots V-shaped wires allow the V-shaped slots to expand inward. This design leaves no space for sand particles to get stuck in the slots, so these screens do not clog. Therefore, over the years, well efficiency does not decrease due to clogging.
